PURGATORY
Jonah and reincarnation
The Old Testament story of Jonah and the referral to Jonah in Mathew (I think) clearly confirms the true nature of our Earthly reality.
Three score and ten years on Earth is not long enough for Human Kind to evolve in Spirit. The past makes us who we are in our hearts. Jonah was deceived by this Earthly Realm and followed the other sheep for his three score and ten, as we all do. He ignored his own sense of what’s Right and Wrong and used and lived by the moral code of others, as we all do.
When Jonah died he forgot his life in any previous incarnation, as we all do. When he was reincarnated he carried on with his Earthly existence but his heart was strengthened by lessons learned in previous incarnations and this time he did follow his own sense of Right and Wrong. Like all Human Beings he had grown in Spirit and grown to hate life on Earth. Hence the saying ‘Those who love life shall lose life but those who hate life shall gain life’
Catholics know this process of Spiritual growth as Purgatory.
